Operations began in 1872 at this colliery which lay in the Cannock coalfield. The mines were served by the Cannock Mineral Railway, Littleworth Tramway and the Cannock Extension Canal. In liquidation in 1880 and acquired by the newly formed New Cannock & Wimblebury Colliery Company.
