Duffryn, Llynvi and Porth Cawl Railway Company
Incorporated on 10th June 1825
Only the second Welsh railway to be built. It was opened in 1829 to connect coal mines, quarries and ironworks with the Bristol Channel. The line amalgamated with the Llynvi Valley Railway in 1847 and formed part of the Llynvi and Ogmore Railway in 1866, ultimately passing to the Great Western in 1883.
Capital £40,000 in shares of £100 each, loans of £2,000. Further capital raised of £10,000 in £25 Quarter shares, and further borrowing of £19,861.
