Gravesend and Rochester Railway Company
Incorporated on 31st July 1845
A 7 mile line built by the Thames and Medway Canal Company which opened prior to its authorisation. It ran from Gravesend to Strood and the River Medway where it linked with steamers travelling to Chatham. It was purchased by the South Eastern Railway in 1846 as part of the North Kent line.
