Sittingbourne and Sheerness Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th July 1856. A 7 mile line connecting the Isle of Sheppey with the mainland. It was leased to the London, Chatham and Dover Railway from 1859 (later vested in that company), and opened in 1860.
Capital £80,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £26,600. Additional raised in preference shares in 1859 of £40,000.
