Hereford Railway Company
Incorporated on 26th May 1826.
A 12 mile horse-drawn tramway, linking Monmouth with the city of Hereford. It opened in 1829 creating a through route from Abergavenny to Hereford via the Llanfihangel and Grosmont Railways. The line was purchased by the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway in 1846, and thus became part of the Great Western Railway in 1863.
