Kent and East Sussex Light Railway Company
Incorporated under Light Railway Order of 1904.
A 12 mile line which connected Tenterden town with the South Eastern Railway. The line first opened in 1900 as the Rother Valley Light Railway, was re-named in 1904, and was extended to Headcorn in 1905 where it also met the South Eastern and Chatham line. The company remained independent through grouping, but went into liquidation in the 1930’s.
Capital £315,000 in £10 shares (of which £60,000 issued) and £65,000 in loans. Headcorn Extension stock of £115,000 issued and £19,000 debenture stock
