Kent Coast Railway Company
Incorporated on 6th August 1861
A coastal line connecting with the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in Faversham. First incorporated in 1857 as the Herne Bay and Faversham Railway which was extended to Margate (renamed Margate Railway) in 1859 and extended again into Ramsgate in 1863 then becoming the Kent Coast Railway. The line formally amalgamated with the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in 1871.
Capital £80,000 in shares of £20 each. Loans of 26,000. Additional capital for Margate Extension of £105,000 in 5% shares, and loans of £35,000.
