Maybole and Girvan Railway Company
Incorporated on 14th July 1856.
A 12½ mile line connecting the towns and extending the route of the newly built Ayr and Maybole Junction Railway. It opened in 1860 worked by the Glasgow and South Western Railway who had subscribed £20,000, and passed to that company in 1865.
Capital £68,000 in £10 shares, loans of £22,600. £45,000 in preference shares raised for deviations in 1859, and £15,000 in additional loans.
