A line running over 61 miles to connect the North Sea and the Irish Channel. It first opened in 1835 and fully in 1839, joining the North Eastern Railway in 1862. This later formed part of the London and North Eastern Railway.
Capital £390,000 in 3,000 Whole Shares of £100 each, and 3,600 Quarter Shares of £25 each. Loans of £100,000. This amount was increased numerous times and by1846 the capital amount was £1,305,000 in shares and loans of £465,000.
