An amalgamation of the Portpatrick (1857) and the Wigtownshire (1872) Railways, managed by a joint committee of the London and North Western, the Midland, the Caledonian, and the Glasgow and South Western Railways.
Capital £491,980 issued in guaranteed stock, to holders of ordinary stock in the Portpatrick and the Wigtownshire Railways. This stock did not carry voting powers.
