Preston and Longridge Railway Company
Incorporated on 14th July 1836.
A 7 mile line connecting the towns. It opened in 1840, and passed to the Fleetwood, Preston and West Riding Railway in 1856 which was leased to the Lancashire and Yorkshire, and the London and North Western companies in 1867. The line was horse-drawn until 1848.
Original Capital £30,000 in shares of £50 each. Loans of £10,000. Share capital increased to £48,000.
