South Devon and Tavistock Railway Company
Incorporated on 24th July 1854.
A 19 mile line between Tavistock and Launceston (extending the South Devon line). It opened in 1859, worked by the South Devon Railway and bought by them in 1865. Passed to the Great Western in 1878.
Capital £160,000 in shares of £25 each. Loans of £53,600. A further £30,000 raised in 1858, with £5,000 in loans.
