A line between Doncaster and the Midland Railway in Swinton, with smaller branches. The company acquired part of the Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Goole Railway to form its route, and the River Dun Navigation (Canal) company in 1850, forming the South Yorkshire Railway (and River Dun Co.).
