Ballymena and Larne Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th July 1874.
A 17 mile line to connect with the Larne and Ballyclare line (also authorised at this time). It opened in 1877/1878 and took over the aforementioned company. Various extensions were made involving new capital, and the Belfast and Northern Counties Railway took over in July 1889. The line was closed apart from one small freight section in 1942.
Capital £136,000 in £10 shares. Loans of £45,100. £40,000 in shares in 1878 for extensions, and pref. shares raised of £30,000 in 1885.
