Ever Ready Company (Great Britain) Limited
A well known manufacturer of batteries, torches and cycle lamps formed in 1906 as the export branch of the American Eveready Battery Company. This company formed in 1914 when it became independent of the American company. Dominated the UK battery market for many years until it was broken up after a hostile takeover in 1981 by Hanson Trust. The Everready name dissappeared in 1999 after UK manufacturing was halted.
Capital £500,000in 200,000 7% Cumulative Participating Preference shares of £1 and 300,000 Ordinary shares of £1. Increased to £1,000,000 by 1932 by changing the ordinary shares to 3,200,000 shares of 5 shillings.
