Formed to acquire the business of an English Opera House founded by Carl Rosa. In 1887 the company took over the 75 year lease of the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool as well as various rights Mr Rosa had acquired in English Operas and stage accessories.
It should be noted that the National Archive records show this company as The Royal Carl Rosa Opera Co. Ltd., however the information available has confirmed this to be the company listed and the inclusion of ‘Royal’ is an error.
