Records where place of business is Bulgaria
Bulgaria was under Ottoman rule until the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78 when the current State was formed. In 1946 it became a Communist State. Our catalogue concentrates on this period from the late 1870’s to 1946.
The Bulgarian language uses the Cyrillic alphabet but some certificates were also printed in French and other languages. French was generally the universal diplomatic language at this time. The alphabet was standardised in the 1870’s to 32 letters which lasted until 1945 when there was a further reform, removing 2 letters. We give the standard alphabet below used before 1945. You may search in any language.
If you are searching for a certificate in Bulgarian, copy and paste the letters you need in the search bar to find your certificate.
