Australian Freehold Gold Mine
Established on the Cost Book principle to acquire gold mining property in New South Wales. Not much is known of this company except that a group of about 50 employees of the company sailed from Bristol in the same year. In 1855 there was a Civil case brought before the Vice Chancellors Court in London because the company were accused of ‘rigging the market’ by buying their own shares to increase their value.
