Compagnie Fermière des Eaux de Baden-Baden Limited
Registered by 1911. The hot thermal baths were well known in Roman times but came into their own in modern times at the end of the 18th century. The town became a popular tourist resort with wealthy Europeans especially Russians, French and English, the latter building a golf course and tennis club in the town. Frenchman Jacques Bénazet, nicknamed ‘King of Baden’ built the world renowned Casino. This English company owned the Friedrich baths presumably until the onset of WWI when it was seized as Enemy property.
