Agra Bank Limited
Registered in 1867. Company number 3347. Founded in 1833 in India. Reconstructed in 1857 and registered in England as Agra and United Service Bank. To gain access to the London Clearing House it acquired the London private bank of Masterman, Peters, Mildred and Company and was renamed Agra and Masterman’s Bank. Suspended during the 1866 failure of Overend Gurney and the Indian business was again reconstituted as this. Failed in 1900.
Capital (1893) £1,000,000 later reduced to £600,000.
