The bank was formed in December 1911 from the Moscow branch of the Banque de Commerce Privée de St.-Pétersbourg and took over the Moscow business of its predecessor. Capital was originally fixed at 5,000,000 roubles in shares of 250 roubles. Later, capital was increased to 12,500,000 roubles.
