Grushkovsky Sugar-Beet Factory

This sugar factory was originally founded in 1840 by the large landowner Countess Stroganova. The village Gruska grew around the sugar factory. It is located 25 km from the “White Church” railway station on the Fastovo Railway. Today known as Ulyanovka in the Kirovograd district, central Ukraine. Became a joint-stock company in 1872 and this is one of its founder shares. By 1908, the sugar factory employed 419 workers and produced almost 4000 tons of sugar and 1300 tons of sugar beet syrup.
