Registered 1927 as a public company to carry on the business of Currys Limited, registered as a private company in 1922 to take over the business of Henry Curry, cycle manufacturer and retailer, later dealing in gramophones, wireless sets and other goods. Several other mergers and acquisitions to evolve into Currys PLC, the international electrical retailer with stores in most UK towns.
Capital £500,000 in 200,000 7½% Cumulative Preference shares of £1 and 600,000 Ordinary shares of 10 shillings.
