
East Lancashire Railway Company
Incorporated on 3rd August 1846
An amalgamation of the Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington and Colne Extension, the Blackburn and Preston, the Liverpool, Ormskirk and Preston, and the Manchester, Bury and Rossendale Railways. Covered 88 miles of standard gauge track. The East Lancashire Railway later became part of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in 1859.
Capital £2,979,375 in shares. Loans of £992,458. Consolidated by Act of 1852-3.
