G. H. Druce Ltd
Registered 1905. Druce was a claimant to the estate of the Duke of Portland, claiming that his Grandfather, Thomas Druce and the Duke of Portland were in fact the same person and he therefore was heir to the title and fortune. The case was based on the story that the Duke of Portland lived a parallel life as Thomas Druce, part owner of the Baker Street Bazaar. The legal costs were offset by the incorporation of this company, offering a share in the estate should the case be successful. The case was dismissed as frivalous when Druces body was exhumed and perjury cases were brought against the main witnesses although not Druce himself. Dissolved <1916. Company number 85345.
Capital £11,000 in 10,000 ordinary shares of £1, 6,000 Deferred A shares of 1/- and 14,000 Deferred B shares of 1/-.
