Great Eastern Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th August 1862.
An amalgamation of the Eastern Counties, the Norfolk, the Eastern Union, the East Anglian, the East Suffolk and other railways, connecting London to East Anglia. The lines in use totalled 1179 miles, and the network was extended many times following the original amalgamation.
Authorised capital of £31,968,579 in shares and stock, £14,886,582 in loans.
