Great Western and Great Central Railways Joint Committee
Incorporated on 1st August 1899.
Originally an extension of the Great Central Railway into London, to join the Metropolitan line there. The Great Western lines were also upgraded, and the new line provided an alternative route for the inter-city express trains in the Capital.
