A 9 mile line connecting with the North Kent section of the South Eastern Railway, promoted by this company in order to compete with the London, Brighton and South Coast Railways shipping ports. The line opened in 1882 having passed to the South Eastern company in 1881.
Capital £80,000 in shares of £10 each, and loans of £26,600. Extension capital of £200,000 in shares and £65,000 in loans authorised in 1880, and issued by the South Eastern company.
