Ipswich and Bury St. Edmunds Railway Company
Incorporated on 21st July 1845.
A 26 mile standard gauge line between the towns, which was later absorbed by the Eastern Union Railway (also in Ipswich) and extended to Norwich. The line passed to the Great Eastern Railway.
Capital £1,450,000 divided into 36,000 Original Shares of £25 each, and 24,000 New Shares of £25 each. Loans of £483,333.
