Isle of Wight (Newport Junction) Railway Company
Incorporated on 31st July 1868.
A line to connect the original Isle of Wight Railway and the Cowes and Newport Railway between Sandown and Newport. It was not opened until the late 1870’s, and went on to form part of the Isle of Wight Central Railway from 1887.
Capital £84,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £28,000. Extension capital in 1872 of £50,000 and £16,600 respectively.
