Incorporated on 5th August 1891.
Intended as a network running over 170 miles from Warrington (and the Manchester Ship Canal) to the coast in Lincolnshire, crossing 5 different counties. Following its incorporation, the routes were altered and some abandoned due to lack of funding, resulting in only a line between Chesterfield and Lincoln. This opened in 1896 and passed to the Great Central Railway in 1906.
Capital £5,000,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £1,666,666.
