Leeds and Selby Railway Company
Incorporated on 29th May 1830.
A 20 mile line intended to improve the connection between Leeds and its manufacturing industry, and the port of Hull. The line opened in 1834 but it was only in 1840 that the line was joined (in Selby) by the Hull and Selby Steam Packets company, completing the route on to Hull. The line was bought by the York and North Midland Railway in 1844.
Capital £210,000 in shares. Loans of £90,000.
