Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway Company
Incorporated on 7th August 1884.
A 7½ mile double line connecting with the Cheshire Lines Extension Railway. It opened in 1887 and provided a connection between many lines in the area including the Midland, the Great Northern and the West Lancashire Railways. The line passed to the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in 1897.
