
Manchester and Milford Railway Company
Incorporated on 23rd July 1860.
A 41 mile line planned to run from Llanidloes to Pencader, completing the route from Crewe to Milford Haven (which had originally been the promoted route of the Manchester and Milford Haven Railway in 1845). The line was altered and ran to Aberystwyth rather than Llanidloes, and it passed to the Great Western Railway in 1906.
Original capital £555,000 in £10 shares, and loans of £185,000. Further capital of £111,000 and £37,000 raised for the Aberystwyth line.
