Incorporated around 1870. Established the Carlton Ironworks at Ferryhill, County Durham. Name changed to Carlton Iron Company in 1878. Acquired by Dorman Long in 1920.
Capital 10,000 shares of £10 (First Issue) and 6,000 shares of £10 (Second Issue). Second issue increased to 10,000 shares about 1872.
