North Yorkshire and Cleveland Railway Company
Incorporated on 10th July 1854.
Planned to run from Grosmont on the York and North Midland line to Pickton and the Leeds Northern Railway. The line as planned was completed by the Castleton and Grosmont Railway (specially formed to complete this line). It Passed to the North Eastern Railway in 1859 after being extended by three branches.
Capital £180,000 in shares of £10 each. Loans of £60,000. Further shares of £40,000 raised for extension in 1855.
