Platt Brothers and Company Limited
Registered 1867. The company was originally founded in 1770 as textile machinery makers and foundry owners, moving to Oldham in about 1820. They grew to be the largest textile machinery manufacturers in the world by the outbreak of the First World War. Following the post war slump the company merged with many others in the industry and is now Platt International.
