Princetown Railway Company
Incorporated on 13th August 1878.
A line running 10 miles from the town to the South Devon and Tavistock Railway. The line was subscribed to by the Great Western and the Plymouth and Dartmoor Railways. It opened in 1883 and was grouped into the Great Western in 1922.
Capital £60,000 divided into 3,000 ‘A’ shares, 800 ‘B’ shares and 2,200 ‘C’ shares. Loans of £20,000. This was later converted into stock ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’.
