Seacombe, Hoylake and Deeside Railway Company
Incorporated on 18th July 1872. Originally the small Hoylake Railway (1863), which was purchased and extended by the newly formed Seacombe, Hoylake and Deeside Railway company in 1872, having first opened in 1866. The line was later re-incorporated as the Wirral Railway, and formed part of the London, Midland and Scottish company.
Capital £70,000 in shares of £10 each, and loans of £23,300. Capital for new lines in 1873 of £24,000 and £8,000 respectively, and an extension in 1881 of £124,000 and £41,300. Brighton extensions £200,000 and £66,600.
