Shrewsbury and Chester Railway Company
Incorporated in 1846. A line planned to enable existing lines to reach the Midlands and the port of Liverpool via Shrewsbury. The company was formed by the North Wales Mineral and the newer Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Chester Junction companies, and eventually ran 30 miles from the North Wales Mineral line in Wrexham to Shrewsbury. It later passed to the Great Western.
