Shropshire Railways Company
Incorporated on 7th August 1888. Formed to purchase the Potteries, Shrewsbury and North Wales Railway and build connections to the North Staffordshire Railway, which were only partially completed. The line was re-constructed by the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Light Railway company in 1909, and worked from 1911 until 1933.
Original Capital £650,000, divided into ‘Shrewsbury’ and ‘Market Drayton’ section: Shrewsbury £350,000 in shares and £100,000 in loans. Market Drayton £300,000 in shares and £100,000 in loans.
