Stratford-on-Avon Railway Company
Incorporated on 10th August 1857.
A 9 mile mixed gauge line connecting the town with a branch of the Great Western Railway. It opened from 1860 onwards, the broad-gauge section disused from 1863 (bar occasional trains). The line passed to the Great Western Railway in 1883.
Capital £65,000 in shares of £20 each, loans of £21,000. New capital in 1861 of £17,500 in £10 5% preference shares, £6,000 in loans.
