Taw Vale Railway Company
Incorporated on 21st July 1845.
First incorporated on 11th June 1838 and known as the Taw Vale Extention and Dock, this Act was allowed to lapse. The broad gauge Taw Vale line running 31 miles between Crediton and Barnstaple finally opened in 1854. It had been re-named the North Devon Railway in 1851 and was leased to the London and South Western Railway from 1862.
