Thetford and Watton Railway Company
Incorporated on 16th July 1866
A 9 mile line connecting the towns and joining the Great Eastern Railway at the latter. It opened in 1869, and was extended to join the Bury St. Edmunds and Thetford Railway in 1873. The line was again extended by the new Watton and Swaffham Railway in 1875, and both were leased to the Great Eastern Railway from 1879.
Capital £45,000 in £10 shares, and loans of £15,000. New capital for extension in 1873 £16,000 and £5,300 respectively.
