
West Somerset Mineral Railway Company
Incorporated on 27th July 1857.
A 13 mile mineral line with an estimated cost of £50,000. It was worked by the Brendon Hills Iron Ore Company until 1866, followed by the Ebbw Vale Iron Company. The line closed in 1898 having made a loss throughout its operation.
Capital £65,000 in ‘A’ and ‘B’ shares in equal portions. Loans of £21,500 (debenture stock). £35,000 further shares issued for extension.
