Incorporated on 23rd November 1882.
A short line of 2 miles, opened in 1887 and worked by the London and North Western Railway. In 1889 the company went bankrupt but the line was revived by a group of businessmen and re-opened in 1891. It was finally closed in 1926 having formed part of the London, Midland and Scottish network.
