Charleston (Charlestown) Railway and Harbour Company
Incorporated on 8th August 1859
Formed to purchase an existing coastal line (constructed by private parties), connecting with the harbour. Passed to the West of Fife Mineral Company in 1861 who improved the lines for passenger traffic, and extended the line to the Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee Railway. The West of Fife amalgamated with the North British Railway in 1862.
Capital £72,000 in shares of £10 each, loans of £24,000.
