Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilston Direct Railway Company
Incorporated on 4th August 1845.
A 9 mile line running between the towns. The company was dissolved and amalgamated with the Caledonian Railway in 1880, and was developed into the Glasgow, Barrhead and Kilmarnock Joint Railway by the Caledonian and Glasgow and South Western companies.
Capital £275,000 in 6,000 Original Shares of £25 each, and 5,000 New Shares of £25 each. Loans of £25,000 (Original debt of £75,000).
