Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway Company
Incorporated on 21st July 1856.
A 40 mile line running from Nairn (and the Inverness and Nairn Railway) to Keith, formed to complete the route from Inverness to Aberdeen as the title suggests. It opened in 1858 having had financial assistance from the Great North of Scotland company and consolidated with the Inverness and Nairn Railway in 1861. Together these joined the Inverness and Perth Junction company to form the Highland Railway in 1865.
Capital £325,000 in £10 shares. Loans of £108,300. New capital raised in 1860 of £150,000 in £10 shares and £50,000 loans, and a further £20,000 raised in 1861.
