Inverness and Nairn Railway Company
Incorporated on 24th July 1854.
A 15 mile line between the towns, with a branch to Inverness Harbour. It opened in 1855 and consolidated with the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway in 1861. Later formed the Highland Railway together with the Inverness and Perth Junction company in 1865.
Capital £80,000 in £10 shares. New preference stock issued £25,000 in 1857.
